Vinyl Business Signs in New York
Velement makes and installs vinyl business signs across New York. Cut vinyl lettering, printed decals, logo graphics and full vinyl signage packages, produced in our own facility and applied by our own installers so the edges are straight and the bubbles are not there.
Vinyl signage for storefronts, offices, retail, restaurants and vehicles in NYC and the tri-state area.
Vinyl Signage That Is Cut and Applied Properly
Vinyl is the cheapest way to put a brand on a surface, which is exactly why it is the most commonly botched. A logo cut from the wrong grade of film lifts at the corners within a season. A window graphic applied on a cold morning by someone in a hurry keeps its bubbles forever. The material is inexpensive. Doing it badly is not.
Velement brings 30 years of architectural signage experience to vinyl business signs in New York. We cut and print in our own facility, we specify the film grade for the surface and the expected life, and our own teams apply it. That is the entire difference between vinyl signage that looks deliberate and vinyl signage that looks temporary.
That covers one logo on one glass office door, and it covers a vinyl package across every storefront in a retail estate. We work throughout the five boroughs, Long Island, Westchester, northern New Jersey and Connecticut, from our facility in Hicksville, NY.
Our Vinyl Signage Services
Cut Vinyl Lettering
Individual letters and logos cut from solid color film and applied directly to glass, walls, doors and panels. No background, no visible edge, just the mark itself.
Printed Vinyl Decals and Graphics
Full color printed decals for logos, artwork, photography and anything a solid cut color cannot carry. Contour cut to the shape of the design.
Glass and Door Vinyl
Logo decals, opening hours, suite numbers and manifestation on glass doors and partitions, in solid, printed or frosted film.
Storefront Vinyl Signage
Shop names, logos and window messaging applied to storefront glass and fascias, sized to be read from across the sidewalk rather than from arm’s length.
Interior Wall Vinyl
Applied wall lettering, quotes, logos and directional marks, in cut or printed film to suit the wall finish.
Floor Vinyl and Markings
Floor graphics, directional marks and zone markings on laminates rated for foot traffic and slip resistance.
Vehicle Lettering and Decals
Van and truck lettering, door logos, phone numbers and fleet identification, on cast film that follows the panel rather than fighting it.
Product, Equipment and Safety Marking
Asset labels, equipment identification, product decals and safety marking, printed in matched batches.
Removable and Campaign Vinyl
Low-tack film for promotions, seasonal messaging and leased space, designed to come off cleanly when the campaign or the lease ends.
Cut Vinyl or Printed Vinyl
This is the first question worth answering on any vinyl job, and almost no competitor page answers it. It also happens to be the question buyers actually type into Google.
Cut Vinyl
The design is cut from a solid sheet of colored film and the background is discarded, so only the letters or shapes are applied. Nothing sits behind the mark, which is why cut vinyl on glass looks like the glass has been lettered rather than stickered. It is the right choice for logos in one or two flat colors, text, opening hours, suite numbers and vehicle lettering. It cannot carry gradients, photography or fine detail.
Printed Vinyl
The design is digitally printed onto white film and contour cut to shape. It carries full color, gradients, photographic images and unlimited detail, and it is the only option for anything a solid color cannot reproduce. On glass it reads as an applied graphic rather than as lettering, which is sometimes exactly what you want and sometimes not. We laminate printed vinyl for anything exposed to sun, cleaning or contact.
If you are not sure which your logo needs, send it to us. We will tell you which route will do it justice and which will flatten it, before you pay for either.
Vinyl Grades, Durability and Lifespan
Vinyl is not one material. The grade decides how long it lasts, whether it will sit on a curve, and whether it comes off cleanly. Specifying the cheap film for a five-year job is the single most common reason vinyl signage fails early.
| Film type | What it suits | Typical service life |
|---|---|---|
| Cast vinyl | Curves, vehicles, rivets, long-life exterior work. Thin, conformable and dimensionally stable. | Longest of the standard films |
| Calendered vinyl | Flat interior and shorter-life exterior surfaces. Thicker and lower cost. | Shorter than cast |
| Removable and low-tack | Campaigns, promotions, leased space, anything that has to come off cleanly. | Short by design |
| Optically clear | Printed graphics on glass where the film itself should not be visible. | Varies by product |
| Frosted and etch-effect | Privacy, manifestation and decorative glass work. | Interior, long |
| Laminates | Applied over printed film for UV, scuff, cleaning and graffiti resistance. | Extends the film beneath it |
Vinyl Business Signs by Sector
- Retail and storefronts. Window lettering, logos, opening hours, promotional messaging. Fast to change, which is why retail uses it more than any other sector.
- Restaurants and bars. Door and window branding, menus, licensing notices, seasonal messaging. Applied out of hours so service is not interrupted.
- Offices and professional services. Reception logos, glass door lettering, suite and floor numbers, meeting room identification and manifestation.
- Trades and service businesses. Vehicle lettering and door logos. For a business working out of a van, this is often the highest-return signage available.
- Warehousing and industrial. Zone and bay marking, equipment and asset identification, safety marking.
- Gyms, clinics and studios. Window privacy and branding, wall lettering, floor marking, on films that take frequent cleaning.
- Events and pop-ups. Short-life branding on a fixed date, removed cleanly afterwards. The images already on this page include a retail pop-up.
From Artwork to Applied
- Artwork and surface check. You send the logo or design, we confirm the surface, the dimensions and whether it needs cutting or printing.
- Route and film specified. Cut or printed, film grade chosen for the surface, the lifespan and whether it has to be removable.
- Proof and scale check. A scaled layout so you can see how the mark sits on the actual window, door or wall before it is made.
- Production. Cut or printed in our own facility, weeded, taped and laminated as required.
- Surface preparation. The surface cleaned and prepared on site. Vinyl fails at the surface far more often than it fails in the film.
- Application. Applied by our own installers, squeegeed out, edges checked. Out of hours where the space is trading.

Vinyl Business Sign FAQs
What is the difference between cut vinyl and printed vinyl?
Cut vinyl is a solid colored film cut to the shape of your design, with no background, which is why it looks like lettering rather than a sticker. Printed vinyl is digitally printed on white film and carries full color, gradients and photographic detail. Cut suits simple logos and text, printed suits anything more complex.
How long do vinyl business signs last?
It depends entirely on the film grade and the exposure. Cast films on a prepared surface last considerably longer than calendered films, laminating extends printed work, and removable films are short by design because that is their job. We specify the grade for the life you need and tell you what that life is before you order.
Will vinyl damage our windows or walls?
Not when the right film is specified and it is removed properly. Glass is the most forgiving surface. For painted walls and leased space we use removable low-tack film. Tell us if the surface has to be returned to its original condition.
Can you use our existing logo?
Yes. Send it and we will tell you whether it needs cutting or printing, and whether the file will hold up at the size you want. If it will not, we will say so before we make it.
Do you apply the vinyl, or do we?
We apply it, with our own installers. You can fit small decals yourself if you prefer, and we will supply them taped and ready, but storefront and glass work is worth having done properly.
Can vinyl signage be removed and replaced later?
Yes, and for promotional and seasonal work that is the point. We specify a removable film where the graphic has a known end date.
How quickly can you turn vinyl signage around?
Vinyl is among the faster things we produce, but it still depends on artwork, film availability and install access. Tell us the deadline when you enquire and we will confirm whether it is achievable.
Which areas do you cover?
All five boroughs of New York City, plus Long Island, Westchester, northern New Jersey and Connecticut, from our facility in Hicksville, NY.
